The State Capitol and Legislative Plaza is expected to be ready before the end of the year.
The final stages of the upgrade will be completed before lawmakers return to Nashville in January and before Tennessee inaugurates a new governor.
The historic Capitol building opened in 1859 and has undergone extensive restoration work.
New windows, doors and portions of the building’s copper roof. And there will be a new bronze statue of Davy Crockett and his two hunting dogs on the Capitol grounds.
