New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte has clinched the Republican nomination in the state's gubernatorial primary election as she seeks a second term in office.
On Tuesday, with 91% of the GOP votes counted, Ayotte (R-N.H.) won 94,381 votes, or 91.7% of the vote, per the Associated Press.
Farmer Shaun Fife also won 4.1% of the vote and Bob Wayne McClory had 3.5%.
Ayotte touts her position against taxes, her mission to make healthcare accessible and her work on the housing crisis on her campaign website.
"Kelly is holding the line against new taxes -- no income tax, no sales tax, EVER!" the website reads.
Ayotte supports Medicaid and has fought for more funding for medical services across the state. She has also supported legislation that would streamline the permit process to make it easier to build new houses in New Hampshire.
The GOP candidate will face the uncontested Democrat nominee, former New Hampshire Executive Council member Cinde Warmington, in November.
Warmington also has a plan for affordable housing, including preventing private equity firms from buying single-family homes and incentivizing zoning changes to allow for houses to be built.
Overall, Warmington has an explicitly anti-Trump administration agenda, asserting on her campaign website that "Governors are the last line of defense against President Donald Trump's chaos, costs, and corruption."
The Democrat candidate plans to order state agencies to "assess the impact of tariffs" and push for refunds, hold the president "publicly accountable" for certain policies she claims break the law, "repair relations with Canada" to reverse a decline in Canadian tourism, and suspend the gas tax to combat high prices, which she attributes to the ongoing conflict with Iran.
