Georgia set another record for economic development investment over the past fiscal year, with companies announcing roughly $35.2 billion in new investments and an estimated 25,300 new private-sector jobs, state officials said.
The numbers cover projects announced between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026, according to Gov. Brian Kemp and the Georgia Department of Economic Development.
The state said its economic development team helped support 436 business expansions and new company locations during the fiscal year.
Most of those projects involved companies already operating in Georgia. Expansions accounted for 79% of the projects, bringing about 15,370 new jobs and $24.7 billion in investment.
The state also said its efforts helped retain more than 90,000 existing jobs.
While Atlanta continues to attract major investments, much of the economic development activity happened elsewhere in Georgia.
About 75% of expansions and new company locations were outside the 10-county metro Atlanta region, according to the state.
Metro Atlanta is expected to receive more than $5.3 billion in new investment from the projects announced during the fiscal year.
Jobs from international companies more than doubled compared with the previous fiscal year.
The state said international companies accounted for more than 9,350 new jobs and more than $7.8 billion in investment.
South Korea, Italy, Belgium, Canada and France were the top international sources of job creation.
Manufacturing accounted for 67% of the new jobs announced during the fiscal year.
Automotive, life sciences and food processing manufacturing made up 27% of total job creation. The state also reported record levels of investment and job creation in medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturing compared with the previous decade.
Georgia also expects more than 3,790 new jobs from corporate headquarters, software, technology and other support-service projects.
The state said companies planning to relocate or expand their headquarters in Georgia announced more than $225 million in investment.
“Georgia is celebrating a second consecutive year of record-breaking investment,” Kemp said in a statement.
