                                 AN ACT
1 Amending Title 66 (Public Utilities) of the Pennsylvania
2    Consolidated Statutes, in Public Utility Commission, further
3    providing for consumer protection and information.
4    The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6    Section 1.    Section 308.1 of Title 66 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
8 § 308.1.    Consumer protection and information.

10    (c)     Database of rate increases.--
11(1)   The commission shall, not later than 120 days after
12    the effective date of this paragraph, create and maintain a
13    centralized public database of all rates the commission
14    oversees. All information available must be searchable, at
15    minimum, by company, entity, type of utility, year or docket
16    number. The commission shall make the database available on
17    the commission's publicly accessible Internet website and,
1   when the commission receives a rate increase request, the
2   database shall be updated with the information not later than
3   10 days after the commission's receipt of the request. The
4   database must contain all information available for each rate
5   the commission oversees, including rate increase requests,
6   for the previous 20 years, at a minimum.
7(2)   The commission may contract with a third party to
8   operate the database required by this subsection.
9   Section 2.    This act shall take effect immediately.
