HOUSE RESOLUTION 7005

A RESOLUTION to honor and commend Kenwood High School
upon being designated a Tennessee
STEM/STEAM school.
WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this legislative body should pause to pay
tribute to those public schools in Tennessee that, through the natural talents and unflagging
commitment to academic excellence evidenced by their administration, faculty, staff, students,
and parents, have achieved significant milestones; and
WHEREAS, Kenwood High School in Clarksville is one such school, which recently
earned the distinction of being designated a Tennessee STEM/STEAM school by the
Tennessee Department of Education; and
WHEREAS, a Tennessee STEM/STEAM School Designation recognizes those select
schools that promote and implement rigorous STEM-related learning opportunities for all
students that lead to postsecondary achievement and high-quality careers; and
WHEREAS, one of only eleven schools to receive this prestigious honor this year,
Kenwood High School has been named twice a STEM designation school, demonstrating its
sustained commitment to excellence in STEM/STEAM education; and
WHEREAS, the administration, faculty, and staff of Kenwood High School have built an
environment that ensures students have the very best atmosphere for learning; and
WHEREAS, the success of Kenwood High School is a tremendous source of pride for
the school's administration, teachers, students, and parents; and
WHEREAS, the dedication to academic excellence demonstrated by all the fine
individuals affiliated with Kenwood High School is clearly deserving of our respect, admiration,
and commendation; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED
FOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, that we honor and
commend Kenwood High School upon being designated a Tennessee STEM/STEAM school
and extend to its administration, faculty, and staff our best wishes for continued success in the
future.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be prepared
for presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy.
