1A RESOLUTION recognizing and honoring the Legislative Research Commission
2 interns for the 2026 Regular Session of the Kentucky General Assembly.
3WHEREAS, the Kentucky Legislative Research Commission (LRC) Intern
4 Program provides a unique opportunity for postsecondary students to gain an
5 understanding of legislative and public policy processes through active participation; and
6WHEREAS, a limited number of students are chosen through a rigorous application
7 process to participate in the program, and the best and brightest students with a
8 demonstrated passion for understanding and learning about government are selected; and
9WHEREAS, during the four months of study here at the Capitol, the 2026 LRC
10 Intern Program participants are receiving instruction and participating in weekly seminars
11 and learning from guest speakers with special expertise in government, public
12 administration, and legislative matters; and
13WHEREAS, while the students are learning and earning college credit for the
14 spring semester, they are also actively participating, engaging, and working as members
15 of the nonpartisan staff, providing a variety of services and tasks as required by their
16 assigned committees and offices; and
17WHEREAS, the members of the 2026 Legislative Research Commission Intern
18 Program for the Regular Session of the Kentucky General Assembly are the following
19 esteemed undergraduate students: Allieelise Baird, Centre College; Taylor Bishop,
20 Morehead State University; Madison DeVore, University of Louisville; Rachael
21 Hammons, Campbellsville University; Elanor Johnson, University of Louisville;
22 Kennedy Little, Morehead State University; Martine Ngongo, University of Louisville;
23 KayLee Ollberding, University of Louisville; Tyana Rasberry, Northern Kentucky
24 University; and Markus Stathers, Asbury University. These students have dutifully and
25 honorably served, and are worthy of recognition;
26NOW, THEREFORE,
27 Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of

2Section 1.  The Senate recognizes and honors the Legislative Research
3 Commission interns for demonstrating remarkable skill, knowledge, and dedication to
4 support Kentucky's legislature and assist in the complex tasks rendered by this agency
5 during the 2026 Regular Session of the Kentucky General Assembly.
6Section 2.  The members of the prestigious 2026 Legislative Research
7 Commission Intern Program, composed of outstanding scholars hailing from some of the
8 finest colleges and universities in the Commonwealth, are commended for their
9 impressive contribution. The Senate extends to each student best wishes for every future
10 success.
11Section 3.       The Clerk of the Senate shall transmit a copy of this Resolution to
12 Senator David Givens for delivery.
