HB0035ENROLLED ACT NO. 4, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVESSIXTY-EIGHTH LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WYOMING2026 BUDGET SESSIONAN ACT relating to the office of state lands andinvestments; authorizing firefighters to receive hazard payand paid time off as specified; providing appropriations;requiring rulemaking; and providing for effective dates.Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:Section 1.(a) Correctional forestry crew supervisors,correctional crew supervisors, correctional forestry crewmanagers and any other person in a wildland firefightingoccupation employed by the state forestry division of theoffice of state lands and investments shall:(i) Receive a differential for firefighting workdeemed hazardous in accordance with federal standards forfirefighter hazard pay and subsection (b) of this section;and(ii) Be eligible for paid time off in accordancewith federal standards for firefighter paid time off andsubsection (b) of this section.(b) For purposes of this section, the office of statelands and investments shall monitor federal standards forfirefighting work deemed hazardous and firefighter paidtime off when determining compensation under subsection (a)of this section, but those federal standards shall not bebinding on the office of state lands and investments.Section 2. There is appropriated four hundred twenty-two thousand five hundred dollars ($422,500.00) from thegeneral fund to the office of state lands and investmentsfor purposes of providing hazard pay pursuant to section1ORIGINAL HOUSEBILL NO. HB0035ENROLLED ACT NO. 4, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVESSIXTY-EIGHTH LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WYOMING2026 BUDGET SESSION1(a)(i) of this act. This appropriation shall be for theperiod beginning May 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2028. Thisappropriation shall not be transferred or expended for anyother purpose and any unexpended, unobligated fundsremaining from this appropriation shall revert as providedby law on June 30, 2028. It is the intent of thelegislature that this appropriation be included in thestandard budget for the office of state lands andinvestments for the immediately succeeding fiscal biennium.Section 3. The department of administration andinformation and the office of state lands and investmentsshall promulgate all rules necessary to implement this act.2ORIGINAL HOUSEBILL NO.
