HB0036ENROLLED ACT NO. 25, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVESSIXTY-EIGHTH LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WYOMING2026 BUDGET SESSIONAN ACT relating to the state forester; authorizingpositions; providing for an appropriation for wildland firesuppression modules; and providing for an effective date.Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Wyoming:Section 1.(a) The state forestry division of the office ofstate lands and investments is authorized twenty-four (24)employee positions for purposes of this section. Of thepositions authorized in this subsection, four (4) shall befull-time employee positions consisting of regional firemanagers and suppression module leaders, four (4) shall benine-month temporary full-time employee positions andsixteen (16) shall be six-month temporary full-timeemployee positions. It is the intent of the legislaturethat the positions authorized in this subsection beincluded in the office of state lands and investments'standard budget for the immediately succeeding fiscalbiennium.(b) There is appropriated five million one hundredforty-four thousand dollars ($5,144,000.00) from thegeneral fund to the office of state lands and investmentsfor two (2) wildland fire suppression modules for the stateforestry program. Funds appropriated in this subsectionshall be for the positions authorized in subsection (a) ofthis section, support costs, equipment and costs associatedwith hiring, training, certifying and supervising two (2)specialized teams to support wildfire suppression andhazardous fuels reduction projects in the state. Thisappropriation shall be for the period beginning with theeffective date of this act and ending June 30, 2028. Thisappropriation shall not be transferred or expended for any1ORIGINAL HOUSE ENGROSSEDBILL NO. It is the intent of thelegislature that, of this appropriation, one milliondollars ($1,000,000.00) not be included in the office ofstate lands and investments' standard budget for theimmediately succeeding fiscal biennium.Section 2.
