1.1A bill for an act
1.2relating to capital investment; appropriating money for electric bus charging stations
1.3statewide; authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5Section 1. ELECTRIC BUS CHARGING STATIONS; STATEWIDE.
1.6Subdivision 1. Appropriation. $1,000,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund
1.7to the commissioner of commerce for grants to eligible applicants as defined in Minnesota
1.8Statutes, section 216C.374, to acquire and install Level 2 and Level 3 charging stations for
1.9electric buses used to transport students. Grants are to be awarded to eligible applicants in
1.10accordance with the electric school bus deployment program pursuant to Minnesota Statutes,
1.11section 216C.374.
1.12Subd. 2. Bond sale. To provide the money appropriated in this section from the bond
1.13proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue bonds of
1.14the state in an amount up to $1,000,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with the effect
1.15prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota
1.16Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
1.17EFFECTIVE DATE. This section is effective the day following final enactment.
