  To designate Boca Chica Beach located in Cameron County,
  Texas, as ‘‘Boca Chica Beach’’, and for other purposes.
1Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-
  2 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
3      SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
4This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Hands Off Our Boca
  5 Chica Beach Act of 2026’’.
6      SEC. 2. BOCA CHICA BEACH.
7(a) IN GENERAL.—Boca Chica Beach located in
  8 Cameron County, Texas, shall be known and designated

1(b) REFERENCES.—Any reference in a law, map, reg-
  2 ulation, document, paper, or other record of the United
  3 States to Boca Chica Beach located in Cameron County,
  4 Texas, shall be deemed to be a reference to ‘‘Boca Chica
  5 Beach’’.
6      SEC. 3. NOTIFICATION OF MEMBERS OF CONGRESS OF
7CERTAIN GEOGRAPHIC NAME PROPOSALS.
8(a) IN GENERAL.—When the Domestic Names Com-
  9 mittee receives a proposal for a geographic name, the Do-
  10 mestic Names Committee shall notify each Member of
  11 Congress that represents an area affected by such pro-
  12 posal of such proposal when the Domestic Names Com-
  13 mittee solicits input in accordance with the Principles,
  14 Policies, and Procedures document with respect to such
  15 proposal.
16(b) DEFINITIONS.—In this section:
17(1) BOARD ON GEOGRAPHIC NAMES.—The term
18‘‘Board on Geographic Names’’ means the Board on
19Geographic Names established by section 2 of the
20Act of July 25, 1947 (43 U.S.C. 364a).
21(2) DOMESTIC NAMES COMMITTEE.—The term
22‘‘Domestic Names Committee’’ means the Domestic
23Names Committee of the Board on Geographic
24Names.

1(3) PRINCIPLES, POLICIES, AND PROCEDURES
2DOCUMENT.—The  term ‘‘Principles, Policies, and
3Procedures document’’ means the document pub-
4lished by the Domestic Names Committee titled
5‘‘U.S. Board on Geographic Names Principles, Poli-
6cies, and Procedures Domestic Geographic Names’’
7(version 2.3; December 2016).
