                                AN ACT
1 Designating a bridge, identified as Bridge Key 8612, carrying
2    U.S. Route 22 in Cresson Township, Cambria County, as the PFC
3    Stanley J. Lassak Memorial Bridge.
4    The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1.     PFC Stanley J. Lassak Memorial Bridge.
7    (a)     Findings.--The General Assembly finds and declares as
8 follows:
9(1)   Stanley J. Lassak was born January 11, 1921, in
10    Cresson.
11(2)   PFC Lassak received education up until the eighth
12    grade before going to work on the family farm.
13(3)   Outside of work, PFC Lassak enjoyed spending time
14    with family and gardening.
15(4)   PFC Lassak entered the United States Army in
16    September 1942. During his service, he became a Private First
17    Class with the Medical Detachment of the 22nd Infantry
18    Regiment and served until September 1945.
1(5)   Throughout his service, PFC Lassak earned several
2    awards and decorations, including the Purple Heart, Bronze
3    Star Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal
4    and the Good Conduct Medal.
5(6)   On December 5, 1993, PFC Lassak was struck and
6    killed by a car on Level Road in Cresson Township in Cambria
7    County.
8    (b)   Designation.--The bridge, identified as Bridge Key 8612,
9 carrying U.S. Route 22 in Cresson Township, Cambria County, as
10 the PFC Stanley J. Lassak Memorial Bridge.
11    (c)   Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
12 maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the bridge to
13 traffic in both directions on the bridge.
14 Section 2.     Effective date.
15    This act shall take effect in 60 days.
