                            A RESOLUTION
1 Honoring the life and extending deepest condolences to the
2    family of Pennsylvania State Police Corporal Timothy J.
3    O'Connor, Jr.
4    WHEREAS, Corporal Timothy J. O'Connor, Jr., of East
5 Brandywine Township, Chester County, gave his life in the line
6 of duty on March 8, 2026, at 40 years of age; and
7    WHEREAS, Born in Chester on August 1, 1985, Corporal O'Connor
8 was the son of Timothy O'Connor, Sr., and Maureen Dawson
9 O'Connor; and
10    WHEREAS, Corporal O'Connor graduated in 2004 from Henderson
1 High School in West Chester and then pursued his calling in law
2 enforcement, studying at the University of Pittsburgh before
3 proudly graduating from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy
4 with the 131st Cadet Class in 2011; and
5WHEREAS, Upon graduation from the Pennsylvania State Police
6 Academy, Corporal O'Connor began his career as a patrol trooper
7 with Troop J, Avondale; and
8WHEREAS, Corporal O'Connor joined the Troop J Criminal
9 Investigation Unit in 2016 and later served with the Troop J
10 Vice Unit; and
11WHEREAS, Corporal O'Connor transferred to the Embreeville
12 Patrol Unit in March 2022, expressing a desire to help coach and
13 mentor new troopers, and was promoted to corporal in July 2022;
14 and
15WHEREAS, Throughout his 15 years of service, Corporal
16 O'Connor received numerous accolades for his bravery and
17 dedication, including the Commissioner's Area Command
18 Significant Achievement Award and the Blooming Grove Service
19 Award; and
20WHEREAS, His pivotal role during the Papal Visit Detail
21 earned him distinction in 2015, and his commitment to public
22 safety was further honored with the Chester County Manhunt
23 Service Award in 2023; and
24WHEREAS, Governor Josh Shapiro ordered flags across
25 Pennsylvania to be flown at half-staff from March 10, 2026,
26 through the date of interment on March 18, 2026, to honor
27 Corporal O'Connor, the 105th member of the State police to give
28 his life in the line of duty; and
29WHEREAS, Corporal O'Connor's commitment to serving his
30 community extended far beyond his calling in the State police,

1 as he mentored youth as a Chester County Camp Cadet Counselor
2 and volunteered at the First West Chester Fire Company, where he
3 served as a Second Class Firefighter with the "Fightin' 51st"
4 from 2003 to 2012; and
5    WHEREAS, Corporal O'Connor was an avid Philadelphia sports
6 fan whose love for his teams was memorialized in the parting
7 words, "Go, Birds," of a touching eulogy delivered by his wife,
8 Casey, on March 18, 2026; and
9    WHEREAS, Above all, Corporal O'Connor was the devoted and
10 cherished husband of Casey O'Connor and a loving and beloved
11 father to their daughter, Kenzie; and
12    WHEREAS, Corporal O'Connor's family, colleagues and community
13 will remember him for his kindness, loyalty and compassion as
14 much as for his bravery, steadfast commitment to public safety
15 and dedication to the highest ideals of service and family; and
16    WHEREAS, Corporal O'Connor led by example and demonstrated
17 courage, professionalism and integrity in carrying out his
18 duties, earning the respect and gratitude of his colleagues and
19 the communities he served; and
20    WHEREAS, Corporal O'Connor dedicated his career to protecting
21 communities across this Commonwealth; and
22    WHEREAS, Corporal O'Connor is survived by his wife, Casey;
23 their daughter, Kenzie; his mother, Maureen; his father, Tim,
24 Sr.; his brother, Christopher O'Connor, and sister-in-law,
25 Brittany O'Connor; nephews Christopher O'Connor, Jr., and Riley
26 O'Connor; his sister, Morgan Cosgrove, and brother-in-law,
27 Steven Cosgrove; and his Nana Reggie Dawson; and
28    WHEREAS, His family's loss is shared by the entire
29 Pennsylvania State Police community and communities across
30 Chester County and this Commonwealth; therefore be it

1    RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor the life
2 and extend deepest condolences to the family of Pennsylvania
3 State Police Corporal Timothy J. O'Connor, Jr.; and be it
4 further
5    RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be presented to
6 Casey O'Connor.
