R. 8767 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES May 12, 2026 Mr. Self introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Veterans' Affairs A BILLTo amend the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to wind down the Filipino Veterans Equity Compensation Fund.1.Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Compensation Fund Recrediting Act .2.Sunset of the Filipino Veterans Equity Compensation FundSection 1002 of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 ( Public Law 111–5 ; 38 U.S.C. 107 note) is amended—(1)in subsection (l), by striking until expended and inserting until the date specified in subsection (m) ; and(2)by adding at the end the following new subsection:(m)SunsetOn January 1, 2027—(1)this section shall cease to have any effect; and(2)any amounts in the compensation fund shall be deposited into the general fund of the Treasury..
