hjr7019/draft.txt<BillNo> <Sponsor>HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 7019By GantA RESOLUTION to honor and commend James Roberson onbeing named the 2026 Tennessee Farmer of theYear for the West Tennessee region.WHEREAS, it is fitting that we salute those citizens who, through their extraordinaryefforts, have distinguished themselves as agricultural leaders of whom we can all be proud; andWHEREAS, one such outstanding person is James Roberson, who was named the 2026Tennessee Farmer of the Year for the West Tennessee region by the University of TennesseeExtension in coordination with the Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation; andWHEREAS, the Farmer of the Year Awards highlight each farmer's long anddistinguished career in such areas as ag production, marketing, business management, appliedresearch, environmental innovations, community service, and contributions to industry-relatedorganizations and their community; andWHEREAS, James Roberson and Roberson's Family Farm primarily raise Black Angusbeef cattle, utilizing managed pasture systems supported by hay and forage production,emphasizing animal health, forage efficiency, and sustainable practices that support bothproductivity and long-term farm viability; andWHEREAS, Roberson's Family Farm also produces pork and focuses heavily on direct-to-consumer sales and educating the public about how beef and pork are raised; Mr. Robersonopened a local meat market, The Fancy Cow, to allow himself and other area producers tomarket products directly to consumers; andWHEREAS, Mr. Roberson's farm operation reflects his strong commitment to preserveagricultural heritage while building a future-focused operation that can be sustained forgenerations to come; andHJR7019019154-1-WHEREAS, James Roberson exemplifies the spirit and dedication that are characteristicof a true Tennessean, and we find it appropriate to honor and commend such an outstandingand remarkable individual; now, therefore,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDFOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATECONCURRING, that we honor and congratulate James Roberson of Somerville upon hisselection as the 2026 Tennessee Farmer of the Year for the West Tennessee region and extendto him our best wishes for much continued success in all his future endeavors.BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be preparedfor presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made tothe appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appearwithout House or Senate designation.-2- 019154
