hjr7016/draft.txt<BillNo> <Sponsor>HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 7016By TerryA RESOLUTION to commend American Idol top-three finalistJordan McCullough of Murfreesboro.WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should honor thoseexceptional individuals whose talent and dedication to their craft distinguish them within theirfield; andWHEREAS, one such extraordinary talent is Jordan McCullough of Murfreesboro, whosetalent and perseverance have taken him to the coveted top-three finals of America's longest-running singing competition, American Idol; andWHEREAS, after a long road of auditions, sing-offs, and eliminations, the culmination ofAmerican Idol Season 24 will take place on May 11, 2026, in what is sure to be a spectacularand emotional event; andWHEREAS, Mr. McCullough is a worship director at Zeal Church who began singing inchurch when he was only four years old; prior to becoming a full-time worship leader, he workedas a leasing manager at Pegasus Residential from 2020 to 2023; andWHEREAS, he previously auditioned for Season 17 of The Voice in 2019, but none ofthe coaches turned their chairs—a setback that makes his deep run on Idol all the more notable;andWHEREAS, Jordan McCullough first won over the American Idol judges during hisaudition with a soulful rendition of "Goodness of God" by Bethel Music and Jenn Johnson; andWHEREAS, his musical identity remains grounded in his beliefs, with his Christian faithserving as the foundation of his career; he would like to explore multiple styles of music andrelease songs that inspire others; andHJR7016019098-1-WHEREAS, it is fitting that we recognize the monumental achievement ofMurfreesboro's own Jordan McCullough; now, therefore,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDFOURTEENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATECONCURRING, that we commend American Idol top-three finalist Jordan McCullough,extending our best wishes for great success in the Season 24 finale and beyond.BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an appropriate copy of this resolution be preparedfor presentation with this final clause omitted from such copy and upon proper request made tothe appropriate clerk, the language appearing immediately following the State seal appearwithout House or Senate designation.-2- 019098
