To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to improve access to skilled nursing facilities for primary immunodeficiency patients.
1.
Short title
This Act may be cited as the PI Post Acute Access Act .
2.
Improving access to skilled nursing facility services for primary immunodeficiency patients
(a)
In general
Section 1888(e)(2)(A)(iii) of the Social Security Act ( 42 U.S.C. 1395yy(e)(2)(A)(iii) ) is amended by adding at the end the following new subclause:
(VII)
Intravenous immune globulin indicated for the treatment of primary immune deficiency disease (identified as of January 1, 2026, by HCPCS codes J1561, J1569, J1576, J1568, J1459, J1554, J1557, J1566, and as subsequently modified by the Secretary) and items and services related to the furnishing of such globulin.

(b)
Effective date
The amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply to items and services furnished on or after October 1, 2026.

PI Post Acute Access Act

This bill allows for separate payment under Medicare to skilled nursing facilities for items and services that are needed to administer intravenous immune globin (IVIG) to patients with primary immune deficiency diseases (rare genetic disorders that impair the immune system and increase vulnerability for other infections).
