hcr5036/enrolled.txtHOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION No. 5036A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION providing for the adjournment of the House ofRepresentatives and the Senate for a period of time.Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the State ofKansas, the Senate concurring therein: That the Legislature shalladjourn at the close of business of the daily session convened on March27, 2026, and shall reconvene on April 9, 2026; andBe it further resolved: That the Chief Clerk of the House ofRepresentatives and the Secretary of the Senate and employeesspecified by the Director of Legislative Administrative Services forsuch purpose shall attend to their duties each day during periods ofadjournment, Sundays excepted, for the purpose of receiving messagesfrom the Governor and conducting such other business as may berequired; andBe it further resolved: Except as otherwise provided, that membersof the Legislature shall not receive subsistence allowances provided forin K.S.A. 46-137a(b), and amendments thereto, for any day within aperiod in which both houses of the Legislature are adjourned for morethan two days, Sundays excepted; andBe it further resolved: That members of the Legislature attending ameeting of the Joint Committee of Child Welfare System Oversight andthe House Select Committee on Government Oversight, each for oneday, and a legislative meeting of whatever nature when authorizedpursuant to law or authorized by the Legislative Coordinating Council,the President of the Senate or the Speaker of the House ofRepresentatives and members of a conference committee or jointcommittee attending a meeting of the conference committee or jointcommittee authorized by the President of the Senate and the Speaker ofthe House of Representatives during any period of adjournment shallreceive travel expenses and subsistence allowances as provided by law.I hereby certify that the above CONCURRENT RESOLUTION originated in theHOUSE, and was adopted by that bodySpeaker of the House.Chief Clerk of the House.Adopted by the SENATEPresident of the Senate.Secretary of the Senate.
