(By Senators Smith (Mr. President), Azinger, Barnhart, Barrett, Barlett, Chapman, Charnock, Deeds, Fuller, Garcia, Grady, Hamilton, Hart, Helton, Jeffries, Martin, M. Maynard, Z. Maynard, Morris, Oliverio, Phillips, Queen, Roberts, Rose, Rucker, Takubo, Tarr, Taylor, Thorne, Weld, Willis, Woelfel and Woodrum)

Recognizing the dedicated public service of the Honorable Charles Houston Clements.
Whereas, The Honorable Charles Houston Clements was born August 21, 1943, son of the late Charles and Margaret Clements; and
Whereas, The Honorable Charles Houston Clements earned his A.B. in Mathematics from West Virginia University; and
Whereas, The Honorable Charles Houston Clements was elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates in 1994, and served on term; and
Whereas, The Honorable Charles Houston Clements was appointed to the West Virginia Senate on January 28, 2017, and was elected to that seat in 2019, and reelected in 2023; and
Whereas, During his tenure in the Senate, the Honorable Charles Houston Clements served as Chair of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, 84th, 85th, and 86th Legislatures; and
Whereas, The Honorable Charles Houston Clements has decided not to seek reelection to the Senate in 2026; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby recognizes the dedicated public service of the Honorable Charles Houston Clements; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Senate extends its sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Honorable Charles Houston Clements for his dedication and commitment to serving the citizens of West Virginia; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Honorable Charles Houston Clements.
