1.3child; amending Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 144.226, by adding a subdivision.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 144.226, is amended by adding a subdivision
1.6to read:
1.7Subd. 9. Birth record fees waived for one certified birth record per child. Effective
1.8July 1, 2027, one parent listed on a child's birth record may request one $0 fee certified
1.9birth record per child, and the state registrar or local issuance office receiving the request
1.10must not charge the fees specified in this section to issue that birth record. Additional
1.11certified birth records issued from the same record must be purchased with a separate request.
