This body of 150 Vermont residents would14 make legislative recommendations to the Vermont General Assembly. These15 recommendations would address issues of significant public concern facing the16 State. Participation would be voluntary, determined by a sortition process to17 select a representative group of Vermont residents. Members would be paid a18 daily wage equal to the wage of the median Vermonter and reimbursed for19 lodging, food, child care, and travel costs. The Assembly would have a one-20 year term and meet from mid-June to mid-November for two weekends per21 month during this period.
