A RESOLUTION
Designating April 14, 2026, as "Animal Control Officer and
Animal Cruelty Officer Day" in Pennsylvania; and recognizing
the week of April 12 through 18, 2026, as "National Animal
Control Appreciation Week" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Animal control officers and animal cruelty officers
help pets, animals and people in our communities every day
across this Commonwealth and the United States; and
WHEREAS, There are 8,300 animal control officers and animal
cruelty officers across the United States; and
WHEREAS, Officers conduct humane investigations and seek
justice in cases of abuse, neglect and abandoned animals; and
WHEREAS, Officers protect animals from abusers as well as
pick up stray and helpless animals; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate April
14, 2026, as "Animal Control Officer and Animal Cruelty Officer
Day" in Pennsylvania and recognize the week of April 12 through
18, 2026, as "National Animal Control Appreciation Week" in
Pennsylvania; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives, in conjunction
with national and State efforts, recognize the contributions and
importance of animal control officers and animal cruelty
officers in this Commonwealth and across the United States.
