         SENATE RESOLUTION ____
     MR. PRESIDENT:
     I offer the following resolution and move its adoption:
1    A SENATE RESOLUTION recognizing the Alaska
2 Christian Church on their 190th anniversary.
3      Whereas, Nestled in the hills of Morgan and Owen counties
4 is the quiet unincorporated town of Alaska, Indiana, where
5 early Hoosier settlers sought to establish a place of worship;
6    Whereas, In the early nineteenth century, the Alaska
7 Christian Church was established as a friendly Christian
8 community, welcoming all to worship and serve; and
9     Whereas, A testament to the lasting impact it has made on
10 the community, the Alaska Christian Church has now been a
11 foundation of Morgan and Owen counties for 190 years:
12 Therefore,
13Be it resolved by the Senate of the
14General Assembly of the State of Indiana:
15     SECTION 1. That the Indiana Senate congratulates the
16 Alaska Christian Church on the occasion of their 190th
17 anniversary.

1      SECTION 2. The Secretary of the Senate is hereby directed
2 to transmit copies of this Resolution to the Alaska Christian
3 Church.
