Requires a municipality that receives water from Lake Michigan to use the revenue from the sale of the water from Lake Michigan for the operation and maintenance of the municipality's drinking water infrastructure. Requires a municipality that receives water from Lake Michigan to follow guidance published by the American Water Works Association when establishing the rates at which the municipality sells the water from Lake Michigan.LRB104 17815 LNS 31248 bA BILL FORHB5268 LRB104 17815 LNS 31248 b1 AN ACT concerning waterways.2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,3 represented in the General Assembly:4 Section 5. The Level of Lake Michigan Act is amended by5 adding Section 15 as follows:6 (615 ILCS 50/15 new)7 Sec. 15. Sale of water from Lake Michigan by8 municipalities. A municipality that receives water from Lake9 Michigan shall use the revenue from the sale of the water from10 Lake Michigan for the operation and maintenance of the11 municipality's drinking water infrastructure.12 A municipality that receives water from Lake Michigan13 shall follow guidance published by the American Water Works14 Association when establishing the rates at which the15 municipality sells the water from Lake Michigan.
