11 MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL TO HIRE STAFF
12 TO ASSIST A TASK FORCE CONVENED BY THE ATTORNEY GENERAL TO
13 STUDY THE INSPECTION OF PUBLIC RECORDS ACT.

15 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
16 SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars
[bracketed material] = delete
17 ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
underscored material = new
18 attorney general for expenditure in fiscal years 2026 and 2027
19 to hire staff to assist a task force convened by the attorney
20 general to study the Inspection of Public Records Act. Any
21 unexpended balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2027
22 shall revert to the general fund.
