1 A BILL FOR AN ACT relating to school districts; to provide for mental
2     health leave as prescribed; and to declare an emergency.
3 Be it enacted by the people of the State of Nebraska,

1Section 1.     Each full-time employee of a school district shall be
2 allowed five days of mental health leave each school fiscal year. The
3    employee shall be paid at the employee's usual salary in full for any
4    mental health leave used by the employee. Mental health leave shall not
5    count against any other leave the employee accrues as a result of working
6    for such school district. A school district shall not require or request
7    any documentation from a medical or mental health provider to justify the
8    use of mental health leave.
9Sec. 2.      Since an emergency exists, this act takes effect when
10 passed and approved according to law.
