s1714/introduced.txtFlorida Senate - 2026 SM 1714By Senator Martin33-01518-26 20261714__1Senate Memorial2A memorial to the Congress of the United States,3urging Congress to pass H.R. 260, the No Tax Dollars4for Terrorists Act.56WHEREAS, the Federal Government, and other nongovernmental7organizations, are wasting the money of American taxpayers by8sending more than 40 million dollars each week to the Taliban,9an organization with an extensive record of human atrocities10which is currently under review to be designated as a foreign11terrorist organization, and12WHEREAS, reporting indicates that such taxpayer funds are13being laundered through multiple channels, with Taliban leaders14taking a share of the money and providing aid to Taliban15supporters, and16WHEREAS, the Taliban allows designated foreign terrorist17organizations al-Qaida, Tehrik-e-Taliban, and the Haqqani18Network to operate in Afghanistan, and19WHEREAS, in the past, the Taliban has used noncombatants as20human shields; taken part in mass murder, gang rape, and21hangings; and used Sharia law to remove rights from women,22including banning girls from access to education, restricting23women’s ability to work, and requiring women to be covered head24to-toe, as part of a broader strategy to remove women from25public life, NOW, THEREFORE,2627Be It Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Florida:2829That the Congress of the United States is urged to pass30H.R. 260, the No Tax Dollars for Terrorists Act, to require the31implementation of a strategy to oppose financial assistance to32the Taliban.33BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of State dispatch34copies of this memorial to the President of the United States,35to the President of the United States Senate, to the Speaker of36the United States House of Representatives, and to each member37of the Florida delegation to the United States Congress.
