R. 6347 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES December 2, 2025 Mr. Castro of Texas (for himself, Mr. McCormick , Mr. Olszewski , and Mr. Fitzpatrick ) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Foreign Affairs A BILLTo reauthorize the Global Child Thrive Act of 2020, and for other purposes.1.Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Global Child Thrive Reauthorization Act of 2025 .2.Appointment of Special Advisor for Assistance to Orphans and Vulnerable ChildrenNot later than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of State shall appoint a Special Advisor for Assistance to Orphans and Vulnerable Children, pursuant to section 135(e)(1) of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 ( 22 U.S.C. 2152f(e)(1) ).3.Extension of requirement to issue implementing directivesSection 137(c) of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 ( 22 U.S.C. 2152k(c) ) is amended by inserting and 6 years after 1 year .4.Extension of authorizationSection 1283(a) of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 ( Public Law 116–283 ; referred to as the Global Child Thrive Act of 2020 ) is amended by striking 2025 and inserting 2030 .
