R. 5842 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES October 28, 2025 Ms. Crockett introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary A BILLTo prohibit the use of Federal funds to pay the President a settlement for costs associated with being investigated by the Federal Government, and for other purposes.1.Short titleThis Act may be cited as the No Presidential Payouts Act .2.Limitations(a)Department of JusticeNotwithstanding section 1304 of title 31, United States Code, no amounts may be obligated or expended from the Claims and Judgment Fund of the United States Treasury to pay the President of the United States, any relative of such President, or any entity associated with such President or such relative for any costs incurred by such President, relative, or entity in relation to any criminal or civil matter to which such President, relative, or entity is a party.(b)Federal fundsNo Federal funds may be used to compensate the President of the United States, any relative of such President, or any entity associated with such President or such relative for any costs incurred by such President, relative, or entity in relation to any criminal or civil matter to which such President, relative, or entity is a party.
