R. 4045 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES June 17, 2025 Mr. Neguse (for himself, Mr. Wilson of South Carolina , and Mr. Ciscomani ) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Armed Services A BILLTo modify and extend the authority of the Secretary of Defense to carry out a program to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.1.Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Vietnam Veteran Commemoration Fund Act of 2025 .2.Extension and modification of program to commemorate 50th anniversary of Vietnam War(a)In generalSection 598 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008 ( Public Law 110–181 ; 10 U.S.C. 113 note) is amended—(1)in subsection (a), by striking may conduct and inserting shall conduct ;(2)in subsection (c), by striking may and inserting shall ;(3)in subsection (e)(1), by striking If the Secretary establishes and inserting For purposes of carrying out ; and(4)in subsection (g)(1)—(A)by striking if established by the Secretary of Defense under subsection (a), ; and(B)by inserting of Defense after Secretary .(b)Effective dateThe amendments made by subsection (a) shall take effect on November 11, 2025.
