R. 3506 IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES May 20, 2025 Ms. Brown (for herself and Mr. Evans of Pennsylvania ) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Agriculture A BILLTo amend the Department of Agriculture Reorganization Act of 1994 to reauthorize the Healthy Food Financing Initiative, and for other purposes.1.Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Healthy Food Financing Initiative Reauthorization Act of 2025 .2.Reauthorization of Healthy Food Financing InitiativeSection 243(d) of the Department of Agriculture Reorganization Act of 1994 ( 7 U.S.C. 6953(d) ) is amended to read as follows:(d)Mandatory fundingOf the funds of the Commodity Credit Corporation, the Secretary shall use to carry out this section—(1)$25,000,000 for fiscal year 2026(2)$30,000,000 for fiscal year 2027;(3)$35,000,000 for fiscal year 2028;(4)$40,000,000 for fiscal year 2029; and(5)$50,000,000 for fiscal year 2030 and each fiscal year thereafter..

Healthy Food Financing Initiative Reauthorization Act of 2025
This bill reauthorizes and provides specified funds for the Department of Agriculture's Healthy Food Financing Initiative (HFFI) through FY2030 and for each fiscal year thereafter.
As background, HFFI provides loans, grants, and technical assistance resources to eligible healthy food retailers and food supply chain enterprises to improve and support access to fresh, healthy, and affordable food in urban and rural underserved communities.
