A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to a requirement to report to the Texas Department of
Licensing and Regulation an abandoned or deteriorated water well
identified during an inspection of an on-site sewage disposal
system.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 366.055, Health and Safety Code, is
amended by adding Subsection (g) to read as follows:
(g) If the commission, an authorized agent, or a person
designated under Section 366.014 identifies an abandoned or
deteriorated water well during an inspection, the commission,
authorized agent, or designated person shall report the location of
the water well to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
