Securing Smart Investments in our Ports Act

To ensure an equitable geographic distribution of projects selected through the Port Infrastructure Development Program.

1. Short title

This Act may be cited as the “Securing Smart Investments in our Ports Act”.

Section 54301(a)(6)(B) of title 46, United States Code, is amended—

(1) in clause (ii), by striking “and” after the semicolon;

(2) in clause (iii), by striking the period and inserting “; and”; and

(3) by adding at the end the following:

(iv) ensuring equitable geographic distribution among regions of the United States with regard to the projects selected.

Section 54301(b)(4) of title 46, United States Code, is amended—

(1) in subparagraph (B), by striking “; and”;

(2) in subparagraph (C), by striking the period at the end and inserting “; and”; and

(3) by adding at the end the following:

(D) ensure equitable geographic distribution among regions of the United States with regard to the projects selected.
